I originally hired out on the Santa Fe Railroad in 1973 as a Trackman in the Maintenance of Way Department. In 1974 I was promoted to the position of Foreman. I worked as a Foreman on Major Productions Gang all across the Santa Fe System until 1998. I can honestly say, I have at some time in my career walked every foot of track east to west from Kansas City to California and north to south from El Paso, Texas to Gillett, Wyoming.

In 1980 I took over the Secretary Treasurer position for my Local 2412 out of Lubbock, TX and held that position until I stepped down in 2016, some 36 years.

In June of 1994 I was elected to serve on the Executive Board of the ATSF System Federation. A position I held until June 1998 when I was elected to serve as a full time Federation Officer as Secretary Treasurer. I served as a Federation Officer until 2010 when I was appointed to serve as Assistant to the BMWED National Division President out of Washington, DC. On January 1, 2012 I was elected as General Chairman of the ATSFF Federation. I was also elected as Vice President of the National Division Executive Committee for BMWED.

In July 2016, I again went to work in a Position with National Division and the Teamsters as Director of Education. I proudly served this position until I retired in September 2018 after 45 Years of faithful service to the Brotherhood. 

Now that I am retired, I currently serve on two separate Homeowners Association Board of Directors in the area where I live in Wichita, Kansas. One as President and the other as Treasurer. I also serve on the Board of Directors of a Hospital Association of Texas. Along with these duties, I work with retirees and a law firm, Jones and Granger, out of Texas, assisting retirees and railroad employees in medical claims. 

I also proudly serve the Area 6 Director’s Position NARVRE and work with the National Officers in expanding and growing NARVRE. Should you need any assistance I am there to help.
